Urubamba

The ensemble Urubamba, founded by Jorge Milchberg in parallel with the group Los Incas, was born in 1973 as part of a multi-year collaboration with Paul Simon.
While European audiences appreciated Los Incas for the traditional roots of Andean music through a more ethnomusicological approach, South American audiences were much more receptive to a new form of expression that moved away from pure tradition.
This allowed Jorge to fully express his potential and to develop his own style and creative vision — which today are recognized and taught in the popular music schools of Buenos Aires.
